Hi subscriber,

It's Harvest Season Again!

It's been a busy summer, The meat birds are in the freezer. Our laying hens (pullets) are growing up fast and will soon begin laying. The former neighbor's ducks and chickens are in their brand-new enclosure, complete with a pond and a fountain on our farm. Sandy's tomato plants are coming on strong. (all 29 of them!)

We just returned from our morning grape picking adventure. Roughly 28-30 gallons. They should render 42-43 quarts of juice. We love harvest season! God provides for those who work the harvest!

We are in the process of scheduling our fall classes. If you have something specific you want to learn about or some skill you would like to share with the community, simply reply to this email with your ideas, and we'll get right back to you. Also, if there is enough interest, we want to revive the Ukulele and Harmonica clubs. Let us know!

After a 5-year break, we went to the Yellowpine Harmonica and Music Festival and had a GREAT time. Yellowpine 2025 is where we discovered Clayne Zollinger, an extremely talented young singer, songwriter, and performer. We invited him to perform at The Bee Hive in September. You can read more about that below...
Clayne Zollinger is a singer-songwriter who melds old-school folk and country music with modern songwriting sensibilities, drawing influences from classic songwriters like John Prine and Townes Van Zandt, as well as outlaws and mavericks such as Waylon Jennings and Gram Parsons. His lyrics are raw and honest, but also display an ironic, wry sense of humor. He has won over audiences in venues across the Northwest with his self-deprecating stage presence and larger-than-life voice.
He grew up in a small, rural town in the high desert of Southern Idaho where he became interested in music at a young age and honed his skills as a player and performer by spending nights playing bars and breweries while in college studying Creative Writing. After taking a pause on his music career to pursue an MFA in Poetry, he released his debut single, "The Hard Way," in late 2023.

Clayne will be joined by Dennis Cooper (bass & harmonica) and Juan Pomo (percussion).

Dennis Cooper will open the evening with his one-man harmonica show beginning at 7 pm on Friday, September 12th.
